Our Indoor team scored their best result of the Indoor Series in the final event. Third place represented, not only the best result of the 2024-25 series, but for several series.
We opened the day with a 19-13 win over Typhoons, who themselves were in with a shot of the title. Our only blemish of the round robin stages was a 17-14 loss to Bracknell in the second game. We bounced back in the third game, winning 16-10 against the Blue Jays to leave us on the brink of a Cup appearance. That all depended on the final game against the Rattlesnakes. This was a nail bitter right down to the very last as we just took the game 18-17.
Winning the group also meant that overall we avoided finishing 10th, the position we had occupied at the start of the event.
Our semi-final was against the current series leaders, Base Jam, who had just come through their group as runners-up. That result has knocked out the Blue Sox and had thus guaranteed Base Jam the series win. They were on for the final Cup too.
Base Jam were very strong and won 20-12 to put us into the placing game where we would have a rematch with Typhoons for 3rd/4th.
We had started the day with a win over Typhoons and we then capped the day with another win over them to seal a 3rd place finish on the day and a jump of two places overall to finish 8th.
This was a good end to the Indoor Series, a series in which we hadn’t gone winless during the group stages, but couldn’t pick up enough to challenge for any silverware. Let’s see what 2025-26 brings.
