The 2023-24 LTBP Indoor Series went right to the wire. MK Diamonds and the Reading Blue Sox were battling it out for the title. The Diamonds held the advantage in the standings going into the finale.
It looked on paper like a straight fight between those two, however on they day a resurgent Bracknell Scorchers put the cat amongst the pigeons. With a dominate display and winning all the league games, including a first defeat on the series for the Diamonds, it left the game between themselves and the Blue Sox as the Series decider.
The Blue Sox had to win the game and overturn a 6 run deficit to pip the Diamonds to the title. They fell just short winning 22-20 to hand the title to the Diamonds by just 4 runs.
Outside the series race, the day saw the Scorchers advance into the cup final following an unbeaten round-robin and then a semi-final win over the Bombers. The Blue Sox win over the Diamonds meant they went head-to-head again in the second cup-semi-final The Blue Sox triumphed for a second time to meet the Scorchers. The Bombers went through to the Plate after beating the TV Bros, where they met the Diamonds.
The final honors of the series went to the Blue Sox and the Diamonds, who both won their respective finals over the Scorchers and Bombers respectively.
That’s the indoor series wrapped, the 2024-25 series will start again in November.
