We started our Indoor League Season with a win and a loss. First up we face Hit for Brains, who had shown in their first game they were a good batting team.
We kept our own in the first inning scoring 8, then holding HfB to 8 as well. It was the second inning that eventually cost us the game. We managed only 5 runs and conceded 15. 10 behind going into the final inning we managed to score 11, but we then conceded 11 too. a 34-24 defeat doesn’t full reflect we held them in 2 innings.
Our second game of the night was a very close affair against the Rattlesnakes. We took a slender 2 run lead in the first inning as we hit 12 to their 10. The Rattlesnakes roared back in the second with some good defense to hold us to 10 and the some good offense to post 17 in reply. Behind again, 22-27, going into the final inning, we found our bats and scored 14, our best return of the night, to lead by a slender 9. Our best offensive inning was followed by our best defensive one as we held the Snakes to 7 runs and took the win 36-34.
We are up and running with a win on the board. We are next in action on the 4th December in our last games before Christmas.
