The first of the two CWS/LTBP Indoor series events is in the books and it was a very successful day for the two Thames Valley teams. Both teams won the Cup final in their respective competitions.
The overall winners on the day were the Reading Blue Sox on the LTBP competition and Storm in CWS. Both teams came top of their respective groups in the first phase of the competition. Those point carried over into the knockout stage. While the Blue Sox didn’t make the Cup final, they did win the plate to take forward a 1st in group and 3rd overall. Storm, on the other side, lost to Thames Valley, but that was enough to take them to the top of the standings.
Elsewhere, the two teams from Milton Keynes shared identical paths. Both came second in their group phase, and then both made the Plate finals in their respective competition. To cap it off, both also came runners-up in those finals. The end result was that overall both sit third. The boys are the current holders of the indoor series, so all to play for in the finale next February.
It was a similar story from the teams from Swindon. BamShells finished bottom of their group but went on to win the Plate final to move into 4th overall. Spitfires came 4th in the group and went on to be runners-up in the Cup. A result that puts them joint 3rd overall.
The series take a break now before the finale next February and the crowning of the 2024-25 Champions.
