The 2025 CWS Series is in the books. The series championship went to the very last game to decide the 2025 Winner. Starting the day, Storm and Blitzches were tied on 96 points, each having topped their groups in the first 2 events and each sharing a Cup win.

No room for error in any of the games for either, that could give the title to the other. Through the group stages, Blitzches did what they needed to top the table. Storm after and early scare against the Reading Blue Ballers, won their group. That meant they avoided a series showdown at the Semi-final level. They were joined there by United Nations, who were ending the series strong and Cardiff A, who were also having a stella series.

The semi-finals went the way of the favorites, Storm over United Nations, Blitzches over Cardiff A. In the placing games, UN finished 3rd as they pipped Cardiff by one run 7-6. A good end that propelled UN up the table. They had to wait on the Solent Ladies results to see if it was a top 3 or top 4 finish.

Over in the Plate competition, Solent Ladies took on the Raiders, while Bristol Bluebirds faced Reading Blue Ballers. The Bluebirds eased passed the Blue Ballers, to take on the Solent Ladies, who just beat the Raiders in the other semi-final.

However, they Solent Ladies couldn’t match that performance in the final as the Bluebirds took 5th place on the day. The result for the Solent teams was good enough to move them up to 3rd overall and an excellent series overall.

The final placing on the day went to Cardiff B, who beat Rattleheads 7-6 in the Spoon final.

The final Cup final of the series and the also the Series final was a tight game, as we would hope form. Going all the way to the end, the Blitzches won out 11-8 over Storm to take the Cup and the Series. It was a close run thing, and for Storm some slight consolation for coming 2nd after missing out on the Runners-up spot at the Indoor Series on a head-to-head record.

Overall the 2025 series was a success. Event 1 had 16 teams, event 2 saw us combine with LTBP to have one joint event and event saw the series decided in the final game. An exciting end to this year. Now we look forward to the Indoor Series and a return of the main series in 2026
