We completed our pre-Christmas Indoor League fixtures with a two win evening to move us to second in the league. We were om the double-header shift for this final pre-Christmas week, starting with a game against the Reading Blue Sox. Runners-up last year, this was a tough one on paper, so we did really well to take it 34-20.
This lead into a game against TV Hurricanes. Another very good team on paper, and we had a bit of a bonus as they had some players turn up late. A hard found game ended with use needing 7 runs to win in our final inning. It was a close thing, but we managed to score 9 to win that game 32-29.
We go into the New Year, with a 3-1 record, our only defeat coming against the current leaders, Hit For Brains. It’s still very early days, we have 10 more games to play, but for now to end the season in second is a good start.
